š How Long Do You Wear Color Wellness Glasses?
This is probably the question I get asked the most:
"So, Elizabeth, how long do you wear those color wellness glasses every day?"
My honest answer? It depends on the color⦠and on my mood!
In the morning, Iāll usually slip on each pair for just a few momentsālike a quick check-in with my rainbow. Then, throughout the day, I have a few āfavoritesā that tend to stay with me: indigo, pink, orange, and aqua.Ā They each bring their own kind of magic:
š IndigoĀ helps calm racing thoughts and supports intuition (perfect for when my brain wants to do the cha-cha at 2 a.m.).
š PinkĀ is my go-to for gentle self-love and compassion (basically, a hug for your heart).
š§” OrangeĀ lifts creativity and joy (great for days when I need a boost of fun energy).
š AquaĀ brings emotional balance and refreshment (like a mini-vacation for your nervous system).
Now, people sometimes ask me the flip side: āWhat happens if you wear one color too long?āĀ Good questionāand yes, too much of a good thing can sometimes throw you off balance. Hereās a playful peek at the āoverdose warningsā for each shade:
ā¤ļø RedĀ ā Too long and you might feel overly agitated or restless (ready to wrestle a bear instead of finish your to-do list).
š§” OrangeĀ ā Could leave you a little scattered, like youāre bouncing between five unfinished art projects.
š YellowĀ ā Too much may cause nervous energyāthink jittery squirrel energy instead of sunshine calm.
š GreenĀ ā Can tip into stagnation, leaving you feeling a little too āmehā or complacent.
š AquaĀ ā Too much might leave you detached, like youāre watching life from the bleachers instead of playing.
š BlueĀ ā Overdoing it can sometimes bring sluggishness or emotional heaviness (the āblueā blues).
š IndigoĀ ā Long stretches could pull you into overthinking or escapism (great for mystics, tricky for grocery shopping).
š VioletĀ ā Too much may leave you feeling spaced out or ungrounded, like floating in the cosmos without a map.
š MagentaĀ ā Overexposure might stir up emotional intensity that feels overwhelming rather than healing.
šø PinkĀ ā Believe it or not, too much pink can create passivity, like youāre saying yes to everything just to keep the peace.
⨠Bottom line: balance is the key.Ā Color wellness glasses are like vitaminsāyou donāt eat the whole bottle at once. A little goes a long way, and the fun is in finding which colors support you best in the moment.
⨠Your Self-Care JourneyĀ āØ
Think of self-care as your own personal adventure. This isnāt a one-size-fits-all spa package where everyone gets the same cucumber slicesāitās a deeply personal and transformative experience that lets you explore what actually works for you.
The empowering part?
Youāre in charge.Ā You get to decide what stays, what goes, and what makes you feel like your best self. Along the way, youāll notice that some practices light you up, while others fall flatāand thatās perfectly okay. Self-care evolves, just like you.
For some, self-care means quiet mornings with meditation, yoga, or a stroll in nature. For others, itās all about exercise, eating well, or finally getting a full nightās sleep (without scrolling ājust one more timeā). And letās not forget the emotional sideājournaling, therapy, laughter with friends, or even five minutes of guilt-free silence in the car can all count as self-care.
š” Pro tip:Ā Keep a little journal of what lifts you up and what drains you. Youāll start to see patterns that guide you toward practices that actually restore you instead of deplete you.
Most importantly, remember this: your self-care journey is yours. Try new things, mix it up, laugh when something feels silly, and celebrate every small step. Be gentle with yourself along the way. After all, the goal isnāt perfectionāitās creating a life where you feel nourished, balanced, and joyful. š
