Convos of HOME: Beyond the Claims and Testimonials, A Convo that Got Me Thinking
By Elizabeth Ann of Color & Convo LLC
I was chatting with someone recently who said,
“I don’t like that you make claims that color can do X.”
The comment stopped me for a moment — not in offense, but in reflection. Because, truthfully, I don’t make claims. I share observations — of how color affects me, and how others have said it affects them.
Color wellness isn’t about promises.
🌈When you sit down with a pair of color wellness glasses, I’m not saying,
“Put these on and your problems will disappear.”I’m inviting you to notice.
Notice how red might awaken you.How blue softens your breath. How green makes your heart unclench just a little.
Not every person feels the same thing, and that’s the point. The conversation that follows — that’s where the real healing begins.
💬 The same person also mentioned,
“I don’t want people to mention specific details in their testimonials, because then others might expect the same results.”
And I get that — I really do.
But it made me ask myself: what is the point of a testimonial that just says,
“Try this — whoo hoo!”
We don’t need cheerleading; we need truth-telling.
When someone shares a testimonial for Color & Convo, I don’t want rehearsed hype — I want reflection.
What color moved you? What emotion surfaced? What surprised you?
Even if your experience wasn’t all light and joy — maybe it stirred something uncomfortable — that’s still valuable. Because healing isn’t always easy, and awareness doesn’t always arrive in pastel tones.
I don’t make claims that color will “fix” you. But I also won’t pretend it does nothing. Color has been used in wellness and spirituality for centuries — in temples, hospitals, meditation rooms, and now, even therapy spaces.
I simply offer a bridge: Between science and spirit, light and conversation, awareness and healing.
Color doesn’t promise transformation.
It invites it.
I do invite you to observe what happens when you intentionally engage with a color—how your body feels, what your mind notices, what conversations or emotions arise.
While science shows trends (e.g., brighter colors often tie to positive affect), it also shows variation — individual response matters. Cultural background, personal experience, and current state of mind all play a role.
Treat color as a “magic bullet,” but as a tool — a support for self-discovery, reflection, and healing. When you put on those color wellness glasses, you’re tuning in. You’re giving your nervous system and your awareness a gentle shift.
That moment of awareness — that subtle shift — is where connection begins.
Color opens the door, and conversation walks through it.
Color is something we can imagine.
Noticing is something we can practice.
Sharing can happen quietly in a journal or aloud with a trusted friend.
Reflection is something we can each return to, again and again.
While I’d love for you to explore these experiences with the Color & Convo family, remember — you can begin this process anywhere, anytime. Whether you journey alone or with others, color can meet you right where you are.
