Reclaiming Joy: Overcoming Painful Associations

I put on a pair of glasses today. I hadn't worn them in a while because they reminded me of someone who had hurt me very much.
It made me think, how often do we stop doing things that benefit us because they remind us of pain caused by someone?
Sometimes when someone hurts us, the things we once loved become reminders of that pain. We might stop listening to a favorite song, visiting a place we used to enjoy, or even practicing a self-care ritual—simply because it’s connected in our mind to the person who caused the hurt.
It’s a tender irony: the very practices or joys that could help us heal end up abandoned, not because they lost their value, but because our hearts needed protection. Recognizing this is the first step to reclaiming them. With time, reflection, and gentle support, we can learn to separate the memory of the wound from the medicine of the practice—and allow ourselves to take back what was always ours to begin with.
Here is a question to ask yourself:
“What is something I let go of because it reminded me of hurt? How might I reintroduce it as my own again?”
To help with this, try wearing or gazing through green glasses. Green supports healing, balance, and renewal—helping you reclaim old joys with fresh energy.

Over time and wearing specifically the indigo has helped lessen my symptoms and reactions to my PTSD. My moods have improved as well. I still will wear my set often. Thank you Elizabeth for sticking with me and finding us something that really helps.
Liz and Dwayne are very dedicated in sharing information regarding Color Convo. I have bought 2 pair and enjoy one pair and gifted the other.
